The book follows the life and times of fictional character, Dan Feeney, and takes him through his childhood in Derry during the 1950’s and 60’s and into the developing Troubles and beyond. My book falls into the genre of historical fiction, but like many of those books, personal recollection and experience is strongly woven into this tale. His story could be echoed by many from my city during that period. Indeed, the reach of the Dan Feeney story could well be transposed to other cities and countries throughout the world where uprisings occurred. Revolutionaries are born out of circumstance, not ambition.
